We are planning to camp at Camp Rainy Mountain for our April camp out the 12th-14th. The cost will be $15, 10 for patrol food and 5 for gas. We will plan food on Monday. The plan will be to meet at the hut 6:00 to 6:15 load up and go. The activities will include a five mile hike to big rock and work on scout advancements. Let me know if you are planning on attending.

Also remember, our fall festival is the 20th. We need all scout to be there all day and as many parents to pitch in for couple hours as possible. Please sign up or a volunteer spot. We will also need each family to provide a baked good if possible for our cake walk. This is a busy day and we need all the help we can get!

I will get out more info on each after our next meeting.

MARCH CAMPOUT TIDBITS FROM TODD

Hello All,

Here's what we are planning-

When- Friday 3/22 thru Sunday 3/24

Where- We are staying at a BSA troops property near Fort Yargo. (We couldn't get group area in Yargo)

What we are doing- We will be working on advancements for all new scouts, scout skills and doing bike riding at Fort Yargo.

Cost- $15. This will include $10 for food and $5 to help cover the cost of gas, parking and bike fee to ride in the park.

(each patrol will be doing their own menu on Monday and picking someone to buy the ingredients. I will reimburse once when I receive the receipt)

Please let me know if you are planning on going (kids and adults) so I can have a fairly accurate count for out tour permit.

As always, if there is anyone who wants to go but funds are little to tight please come see me. We want every scout who wants to go to be able to attend.

MARCH ACTIVITIES

3/15-3/17- O/A (Order of the Arrow) Spring Fellowship. Ordeal weekend for new O/A nominees. To be held at Camp Rainey Mountain.

3/22-3/24- Troop Campout: We are camping in Winder and working on new scout advancements and biking at Fort Yargo. Bring bikes and helmets! More details coming soon...

Court of Honor - Rescheduled

Due to weather concerns, Court of Honor has been rescheduled to Monday, March 4th at 7:00 pm. Please have Scouts there by 6:30 pm. Bring a dessert or finger food. See you there~!

SKIING UPDATE AND LINKS

We will be camping at the Scout Hut Friday night (2/15) and heading out EARLY on Saturday. We will return to the Scout Hut from skiing Saturday evening. There will be no campout on Saturday night.

If we have 15 or more scouts, siblings, and adults going we can get the group rate. (So far we do!) The group rate is $66 for skiing or $71 for snowboarding. This includes the lift ticket, ski or board rental and a beginner lesson for those who want it. The only catch is we have to pay a $20 deposit for all going. If we don't do the group rate the lift ticket is $59 and the rentals are $20 and $25. So I need a count of all who are committed to going, and if we have enough people for the group rate, I will need the $20 deposit now (Monday) and the balance before we go. It is a holiday weekend, so we need to get our reservation taking care of as soon as possible.
